Siviwe Mdoda
Siviwe Mdoda is the Land Justice Educator at Tshisimani Centre for Activist Education. He served TCOE for 11 years working directly with landless rural poor in the building of popular formations around land struggles. He also served as a National Organiser for Right2Know Campaign and an Outreach coordinator for Cape Town TV. He was born in KwaZakhele in Port Elizabeth and completed his high school education in the former Transkei before continuing his studies at UCT where he graduated with Honours in English Language and Literature. He has served different organisations as a researcher and language practitioner, with particular focus on the struggles of the marginalised. He has been a cultural activist as a student where he emphasised the necessity of cultural exchange and artistic expression in the process of a political struggle. He has a strong passion for languages and issues of culture and how they manifest in current political debates and struggles.
