Zama Mthunzi

Zama Mthunzi is an activist, organizer, and educator. His experience is in post-apartheid social justice movements.

His activism started at Wits University during the 2015 #FeesMustFall protests across institutions of higher learning in South Africa.

His experience in activist education and social justice was expanded in Khanya College as he coordinated several programmes including the Jozi Book Fair and the Gauteng Community Healthcare Forum.

He later joined Equal Education, a social justice movement fighting for equity and equality in education as the Head of Organizing for the Gauteng province. 

Zama’s passions are located in movement building of youth organizations. 

He is a Mathematical Science graduate from Wits University and was recognized in the Mail & Guardian Top 200 under the education category for innovative work in the education sector in South Africa
